The library of the Institute is one of the most equipped libraries in north India in terms of resources, services, and infrastructural facilities. It offers a pleasant environment for learning and research work. The Institute offers one of the most richly equipped libraries at both the institute campus and at the Hostel to all students and faculty members. The learning resources cater to all its postgraduate programs and doctoral program on Information Technology and Management.

Presently the library has a collection of over 47000 books, a subscription of over 5000 national and international journals in print & online formats, and over one million e-books. In its quest for excellence, the library has also subscribed to cases from premier publications such as B Smart, Proquest and HBR Case Collection. The students have 24*7 access to resources from online databases such as Scopus, ScienceDirect, Proquest, Sage e-journals, Cesim Management Simulation, B Smart, Delnet, McGraw Hill e-book, Turnitin Anti Plagiarism Software & Open Resources EMERALD, Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Springer, Journal Storage (JSTOR), Cambridge Core, National Digital Library (NDL), Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB), Taylor & Francis e-books. Library Management Software (LMS)

In the Institute, most library operations and services are automated. An online public access catalog (Web OPAC) is available for users. Twenty-four dedicated nodes with monitors, one laser printer, and one scanner & other peripherals are available to facilitate using the library materials. All the machines in the library are connected in a LAN environment. The library has been using an integrated library automation package, KOHA software, to work in integrated, multi-user, and network settings. The KOHA is state-of-the-art software for holistic management of libraries that provides various modules, i.e., Acquisition, Cataloguing, Circulation, Member Facilities, Article Indexing & Abstracting, Reservation of Books, WEB OPAC, Report Generation, etc. The indexing part of KOHA software is robust. Besides this, a computerized exit module is also available.

OPAC Interface

The Institute regularly updates and enhances the number of volumes and titles of references and textbooks in the library. These resources are substantially empowering the students and faculty members in teaching-learning and research. This body of knowledge (read Library) is completely accessible to all its students and faculty members. The new arrivals in books and magazines are timely intimated through mail to all students, faculty, and staff members.

Library Policies

The Library is designed to provide a place for student-faculty members to gain knowledge and develop domain-specific skill sets. However, to fully benefit from these print and e-resources, students must adhere to the Terms and Conditions stated below:

Library Rules for Students

The students are supposed to adhere to the following rules for using the library facilities :


  • Students must bring their allocated Library ID Cards.
  • A maximum of 09 books will be issued at a time on one ID card for 29 days.
  • No book/reading material is to be taken outside the library for any purpose without the proper issuance.
  • Books should be returned within the due date.
  • The overdue fine is Rs. 5/- per day.
  • Books can be re-issued immediately if no other students have booked the same book with the library.
  • Books borrowed are to be returned within one week after the examination.
  • Borrowers are responsible for the safety & upkeep of books.
  • On loss or damaging/disfiguring a book, the current cost of replacement will be charged from the student.
  • Students must ensure, at the time of issue, that the book is in proper condition.
  • Bags, eatables, personal books & reading material, and the use of cell phones are not permitted in the library.
  • Students are to maintain complete silence in the Library.
  • At the time of passing out from the Institute, a clearance is to be obtained for the release of the security deposit.
  • Students are required to return the ID card on completion of the program, failing which Rupees 250/- will be charged from the student.

Any violation of the above rules shall be treated as an act of indiscipline and be dealt with accordingly.

Learning Resources

The Institute library has a rich collection of print, electronic and online resources. These include books, periodicals, newspapers, photo albums, standards, dissertations, theses, bound volumes, institute publications, project reports, etc. The library also provides extensive access to E-resources.

  • Books : The library of the Institute is enriched with more than 47000 selected documents in the form of books/ reports and other non-book materials in the area of management and information technology. These collections are updated regularly with the latest titles of interest as scanned from various standard selection sources. It includes a unique collection of management classics, fiction, and rare books. In addition, the library procures selected government documents, technical reports, project reports, conference reports, and corporate annual reports, etc., regularly.
  • Journals (e-journals, National, International): Library of the Institute subscribes to 54 select journals in print form. To update its periodical collection, the library is acquiring backfiles of its core periodical titles in hard copy. Generally, hard copies of the periodicals are available from 2015. The library also facilitates online access to over 5000 periodicals. (Total 143 Print Journals; 139 National; 04, International)
  • E-Journal Databases: Electronic resources consist of contents that are stored and displayed digitally and accessed through computers and other electronic devices. These resources are referred to as online/offline databases, digital content, or media. The aim behind procuring electronic resources is to facilitate its access to users everywhere and at any time.
  • Scopus: Comprehensive, multidisciplinary, trusted abstract and citation database Quickly find relevant and authoritative research, identify experts and gain access to reliable data, metrics and analytical tools.

  • ScienceDirect : ScienceDirect is a searcheable web-based bibliographic database, which provides access to full texts research papers. 3.3 million articles on ScienceDirect are open access.
  • Proquest :
    • The platform offers extensive coverage of over 3,900 publications, delivering up-to-date business and financial information for researchers at all levels. It covers topics like business trends, management techniques, corporate strategy, and competitive landscapes.
    • Users can access full-image, cover-to-cover content, including key business and management journals, providing valuable historical insights. Major publishers include Springer, Emerald, MIT, Wall Street Journal, The Economist, and many more. It also features over 100 titles from India.

  • Company, Industry & Financial Databases

  • Capitaline: Capitaline is the most reliable and empowered indian corporate database. It contains a highly normalised database built on a sound understanding of disclosures in India on over 9200 companies. The coverage includes public, private, co-operative and joint sector companies, listed or otherwise. Capitaline exploits the detailed disclosures which are mandatory in the annual accounts of companies in India. The database provides financial statements, ratio analysis, funds flows, product profiles, returns and risks on the stock markets, etc. The coverage includes the detailed profit & loss account and balance sheet statements and ratios and funds flows based on these, half yearly results, products and plants, raw materials, history of capital changes, bonus and dividends, stock prices and related information, expansion plans etc.

McGraw Hill Express Library

McGraw Hill Education India has been the market leader in providing Educational materials since 1970. It serves school, higher education, professional, test preparation, and Healthcare markets. Its education material – print and digital – is centered on the learners, and they apply the science of learning to improve their education outcomes. The Institute library is equipped with McGraw Hill Express Library.

  • Delnet: As a DELNET member, we have access to a vast collection of eBooks, including 500+ titles on Business, Management, and Commerce. Additionally, DELNET provides access to over 3.5 million full-text eBooks through its collaboration with the World Library, making it a valuable resource for academic and research purposes.
  • Anti-Plagiarism Software Turnitin: The IMS Ghaziabad Library has subscribed to Turnitin, a leading plagiarism detection and academic integrity tool. This subscription helps students and faculty ensure originality in research papers, assignments, and publications by identifying similarities with a vast database of academic content. Turnitin enhances the quality of scholarly work and promotes ethical writing practices.

Membership of other Resources
  • DELNET: Developing Library Network (DELNET): To arrange needed documents (not held by the library), the library is a member of DELNET (Developing Library Network), and DELNET facilitates the provision of a national-level library network. Under this membership, our library has access to the library resources of more than 6669 institutions (India: 6647, Overseas: 22) that includes the Library of IITs, IIMs, JNU, IGNOU, CSIR, DST, etc. It provides books, journals, papers, etc., on INTERLIBRARY LOAN through a personalized document delivery service. It also offers online access to the resources available with the participating libraries through union catalogs, union lists, etc., on a single site or diversely through communication channels.
  • National Digital Library of India: The National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is an all-digital library that stores information about different digital contents, including books, articles, videos, audios, thesis, and other educational materials relevant to users. The NDLI provides free of cost access. It is developed, operated, and maintained by the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. The Institute is a proud member of NDLI.
