FPM Admission Procedure


The Fellow Program in Management (FPM) is an AICTE approved 4 year Doctoral program of IMS Ghaziabad. Institute is offering FPM as a full-time residential program as well as Executive FPM for working Executives. The FPM is offered in all functional areas of management. The program admits individuals with exceptional academic background, strong motivation and discipline, and prepares them for teaching and research-related careers in academic institutions devoted to management-related education, as well as for positions outside academics requiring advanced research and analytical capabilities.

Program Structure

  • Years 1 & 2: Compulsory Coursework for the qualifying exam, Pre- proposal submission and registration, Guide Allocation.
  • Years 2 & 3: Synopsis submission & presentation, Teaching immersion, research paper publishing, case study writing or project work.
  • Years 3 & 4: Doctoral thesis that includes progress reviews, thesis submission and presentations.

Eligibility

The basic eligibility to apply for admission to the FPM is either:

  • a BE / B. Tech. degree or its equivalent with at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) obtained after completing higher secondary education (10+2) or equivalent, and followed by at least 2 years of relevant work experience,

or

  • a Bachelor’s degree / equivalent of minimum three years duration with at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) after completing higher secondary education (10+2) or equivalent, and followed by post-graduation (MBA/Master’s degree in any discipline) from a university or a centre of higher learning in India / abroad with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates),

or

  • an Integrated Masters degree of four / five years in any discipline, with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates), obtained after completing higher secondary education (10+2) or equivalent,

or

  • A professional qualification like CA, ICWA or CS with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates)

Candidates who have the above-mentioned basic eligibility can apply for admission to the FPM through any ONE of the following three routes:

ROUTE – 1

Appear in the latest Common Aptitude Test (CAT) or or GMAT or GRE or GATE conducted all over India, in the last two years prior to the year to which the scholar has applied admission for.

ROUTE – 2

Appear in UGC-JRF/NET/SET/ CAT conducted in the last Five years prior to the year to which the scholar has applied admission for, and submit the scores obtained. For example, those applying for admission to the FPM batch starting in June 2024 must submit scores obtained in the period following June 2020.

ROUTE – 3

Appear in Research Aptitude Test (RAT) conducted by IMS Ghaziabad at campus as notified on institute website

NOTE: All Applications obtained through any of the two routes mentioned above are subject to a merit-based short-listing by IMS Ghaziabad. Shortlisted candidates are required to appear for a Research Aptitude Test (RAT) and Personal Interview at IMS Ghaziabad for final selection.

List of Documents Required

A candidate has to apply for admission to IMS Ghaziabad and attach duly attested copies of the following documents:

  • Attested copy of NET/JRF/CAT Score (no later than 5 years).
  • Certificate and Marksheet of (10th, 12th, Graduation, Masters)
  • Aadhar Card
  • Research Proposal (minimum 1,000 words)
