Melange December 13-14, 2024

The cultural Fest of IMS Ghaziabad was conceptualised in Year 2000 with an idea of Holistic Development of Future Leaders and that’s what makes it a much awaited event of NCR. And, being inter-college interaction; this provides an opportunity for students to develop relationships that will benefit them in the future in their managerial or entrepreneurial journey.

Fashion Show: Timeless Trends

It is a team event.
A team should have a minimum 5 members and maximum of 12 members for each theme.
Themes for fashion show are Retro Royale vs. Futuristic Flares, Old Bollywood vs. AI Avant-Garde, Grandma’s Closet vs. Gen Z Fashion etc any of their choice.
Time limit for each team would be 10 minutes (Including setup and the performance both)
Each team can choose to participate in either one or more themes.
Green room will be provided for changing purpose.
Team should carry their tracks in pen drive only. Team has to bring their own props.
Each group should have one tag line representing their group and the theme
Negative marking if participants exceed time limit.
Vulgarity is strongly prohibited. Any form of obscenity will lead to debarring the team from the contest. Use of cigarettes, alcohol and any unfair means is strongly prohibited.
Teams will be judged on costumes, theme, walking stance, attitude and expressions.
The decision of the judges will be final and binding.

Battle of Bands: Soundwave Showdown

The Band is required to carry their own Instruments.
Bands are required to have minimum 3 members and maximum 7 members.
The theme of Wars of Bands is Hip-Hop, Modern, Jazz, Pop, Rock, Blues, Folks, Classical & Electronic.
The decision by the jury will be final and binding.
Judges will use the following criteria to evaluate the participants:

Originality, Stage Presence, Connect with the audience, Improvisation, Set Dynamism, Appearance, Entertainment Factor/Showmanship

Group Dance: Grooving Decades

All dance forms are invited.
Duration of performance is 5 Minutes (Maximum) for each group.
2 Minutes for setup including entry and exit.
Minimum number of participants should be 4 and maximum 10.
JProps used in the dance should be arranged by the team. Organizers will not be responsible for the same.
The team participating must be from the same college.
Music piece for the performance to be carried by the team on the day of the event. Organizers are not responsible for the same.
Judgement parameter (10 points each)

Choreography, Expression, Audience Engagement
Costume & props (if any, should be arranged by the participant)
Stage presence / overall impact.
Extension of Time limit will lead to disqualification.
The decision of the judges will be final and binding.

Solo Dance: Timeless Solo Steps

Solo participant is allowed.
Nobody else is allowed, no helper, no coordinator, only the participant will be given the entry.
Time duration is of 3 minutes maximum, 1 minute additional for stage set-up.
Exceeding of time limit will lead to disqualification.
Judgement parameter includes:

Choreography, Expressions, Audience Engagement
Costume and Props (if any), should be carried by the participant.
Song/Music should be shared by December 11, 2024 till 12 noon. No acceptance will be done on the spot.
Extension of time limit will lead to disqualification.
Performing off-stage will also lead to disqualification.
The decision by the jury will be final and binding.

Solo Singing: Ages in Echo

Singing Time - maximum 3 minutes
Your background track latest by December 11, 2024 till 12 noon (on the spot track will be not accepted)
Orchestra will not be provided, if the participant wants to bring their instruments they can.
Participant will only be allowed to sing Hindi songs of any category.
No karaoke track is allowed.
Criteria will be based on Impact on audience, Stage Presence, Diction & Enunciation, Voice Quality & Voice Rang
The decision of the judges will be considered final and abiding.

Duet Singing: Era Harmony

Singing Time - 5 minutes max
Only 2 members per team
Participants will only be allowed to sing Hindi songs of any category
Send your background track latest by December 11, 2024 till 12 noon (No on the spot track will be accepted)
Orchestra will not be provided, if the participant wants to bring instruments that are accepted
No karaoke track is allowed
Criteria will be based on Impact on audience, Stage Presence, Diction & Enunciation, Voice Quality & Voice Ran.
The decision of the judges will be considered final and abiding.

Graffiti Art: Erascape

Teams should consist of a maximum of 4 members of the same institute. Each participant should be part of only one team.
Teams are responsible for bringing their own colouring materials, including spray paints, markers, tissue papers, etc.
Each team will be allocated a white canvas of 2.5 feet by 2.5 feet for their graffiti creation.
Participants should base their artwork on the theme announced on the day of the event.
The total duration for creating the graffiti artwork is 2hrs (1.30 hrs for making and 30 minutes for presentation).
Judging criteria will include creativity, relevance to the theme, technique, use of colour, and overall impact.
After the competition ends, teams are responsible for cleaning up their designated areas after disposing of any waste materials properly and leaving the space in its original condition.
The decision by the jury will be final and binding.

Collage Making: Era Collage Clash

It is a team event of 1 hour duration.
Each team consists of 2 members, each from the same Institute.
Old magazines, newspapers, posters, scissors, adhesives etc., will be provided to each team.
Teams have to bring colour, highlighter and sketch pen for themselves.
The theme will be given on the spot.
After the competition ends, teams are responsible for cleaning up their designated areas after disposing of any waste materials properly and leaving the space in its original condition.
The decision by the jury will be final and binding.

Best Out of Waste: Timeless Trash to Treasure

Theme will be communicated on the spot.
Each team consists of 2 members, each from the same institute.
Participants will show their creativity and talk about it in a two-minute video.
Use discarded items like tetra packs, bottles, old magazines, newspapers, etc. to create the art.
Basic materials like glue, scissors, markers, etc. will be provided.
Participants can bring your own scraps too.
The item would be rejected if not found to be a waste product or second-hand item.
No ready or semi-finished model or matter would be accepted from participant in competition.
Participants will be judged on creativity, utilization of resources, artistic composition & design, eco-friendly rating, utility of the product and overall Presentation.
The decision of the judges will be considered final and abiding.
After the competition ends, teams are responsible for cleaning up their designated
Areas after disposing of any waste materials properly and leaving the space in its original condition.

T-Shirt Painting: Vintage Tees

Theme will be communicated on the spot.
It is a team event of one-hour duration.
Each team consists of 2 members, each from the same institute.
Each team shall bring their own t-shirt of white color, colors and brushes. No material will be provided by event organizers. Pre- printed T-shirts will be disqualified.
Only brushes are allowed as the tool. Air brush, sponge and stencils are not allowed.
Teams will be judged on the basis of their creativity, innovative idea as per the theme and clarity of depiction.
The decision of the judges will be considered final and abiding.

Face Painting: ChronoPotraits

Theme will be communicated on the spot.
It is a team event of one-hour duration.
Each team consists of 2 members, each from the same institute.
Each team shall bring their own colours and brushes, mirror (if required). No material will be provided by event organizers. Pre- painted faces will be disqualified.
Only brushes are allowed as the tool. Air brush, sponge and stencils are not allowed.
Teams will be judged based on their creativity, innovative idea as per the theme and clarity of depiction.
The decision by the jury will be final and binding.

Photography & Video Making: Retrolens

Entries are invited for solo as well as team (2 members maximum).
The theme of the Video making competition is Glimpses of Melange-2024@IMS.
Every video must use the hashtag while uploading their video on the given link. #RetroLens
Each team consists of maximum 4 members, each from the same institute.
The team must capture the best video shots of Day 1 and upload the final video in the link that will be provided to selected teams till 8 pm on December 13, 2024. No video will be accepted after 8 pm and if uploaded that will not be evaluated.
The video should revolve around the theme subject and the Video length should be Max (2minutes).
Contents should not be disrespectful and abusive. The use of slang language must be avoided.
The video can be edited using music and captions and should be one’s own creation. No plagiarism is accepted.
The quality of the video should be of minimum 720p. (1080p is accepted but while online streaming, it is difficult to be visible to all video participants, analysing an optimum internet speed, so it is your own choice if you wish to make your video in 1080p).
The Criteria for evaluation will be Creativity, Content, editing skills and engagement
The cash prizes and sponsored goodies will be awarded to the top three winners.
The video should be posted on various social media platforms and IMS Ghaziabad should be tagged and the final judgement would be based on creativity - 30% content - 20% editing skills - 20% likes and shares - 30%
The decision by the jury will be final and binding.

Beat Boxing & Rap: Vintage Beats & Modern Bars

No instruments are allowed: Guitar, mouth organ, etc.
The performance should not have any obscene content.
The time limit is 5 minutes.
Judgment is based on originality, audience connect, sound quality etc.
The judicial decision shall be deemed conclusive and irrevocable

Poetry: Timeless Stanzas

The poetry should be originally written by the respective participant either in Hindi or English.
Political Themes or vulgar themes-based poetry will not be entertained and will lead to immediate rejections with strict action against the participant.
A maximum time limit of 5 minutes will be given to each participant and any participant exceeding the time limit will lead to disqualification.
The decision taken by the jury will be considered as final.
Judges will use the following criteria to evaluate the participants:

Presentation, Connect with the audience, Originality and Confidence

Mimicry: Echoes of Expression

The presentation/clip should not be aimed at promoting communal disharmony or discrimination on the basis of gender, race, religion or caste.
Language, gesture, and overall act should not have any vulgarity and obscenity.
Judgement will be based on imitation skills, sound effects, expression and overall presentation
Each participant shall be given 5 minutes.
Participants may mimic sound of machines and speeches of well-known persons etc. including film personalities.
The decision by the jury will be final and binding.

Mime Act- Era Epics, Modern Mime Magic

It is a team competition.
Time limit is 7 Minutes.
The time limit is 5 minutes.
Each team can have maximum of 05 members.
The act should not contain any dialogues, lip sync.
Points will be given on the basis of innovation, depiction of the situation, team work and expressions.
No participant can point out any individual or religion in any way, and any dual meaning obscene content is strictly not allowed.
